Description
Bariatric Advantage Vitamin B1 (thiamin) easy-digest mini capsules deliver 100 milligrams of vitamin B1 as thiamin mononitrate. Vitamin B1 deficiency has been found in patients of all bariatric procedure types due to low dietary intake and short-term storage in the body. Patients with GI symptoms are at greater risk for vitamin B1 deficiency.
Vitamin B1 is not stored in the body for a long time, and requires frequent and continual intake, especially when dietary intake is low, and with those experiencing rapid weight loss, nausea, or vomiting.
Vitamin B1 is most important to the brain and cardiovascular system, but also plays important roles in converting food to energy, as well as muscle contraction and nerve health.
Thiamin, also known as Vitamin B1, is a water-soluble vitamin found in yeast, cereal grains, nuts, legumes, beef and other foods. Although thiamin deficiency is rare in industrialized societies, some bariatric patients experience difficulty ingesting enough food to obtain adequate amounts of this essential nutrient, particularly in the early post-op period. Bariatric Advantage Vitamin B1 (Thiamin) provides 100mg of this important vitamin in easy to digest capsules, making it easier for you to get the thiamin your body needs for recovery and optimal health after weight loss surgery.
